Thomas Andrew Daschle (born December 9, 1947) is a former U.S. Senator and Senate Majority Leader from South Dakota. He is a member of the Democratic Party. According to unconfirmed media reports, he has accepted President-Elect Barack Obama's nomination to serve as the Secretary of Health and Human Services in Obama's Cabinet.
